L’Oréal and UNESCO joined forces in 2005 to fight the spread and impact of AIDS by means of a programme targeted at hairdressing professionals around the world. The idea is to mobilise the network of L’Oréal trainers to raise awareness about HIV by providing clear information about the virus and encourage hairdressers to pass the message to their customers. The Hairdressers against Aids programme has since been rolled out in 30 countries.
